GuestIf someone books onto a free event, can that person then cancel their booking if they are unable to attend, thus freeing up a space?

KeymasterHi there,
With Events Tickets Plus they are able to manage their event and cancel if need be.
Thanks,

GuestThanks Brendan.
So just to confirm the user, who has no admin rights or anything, but has booked a ticket, can cancel their booking? Can you explain how this would work please? Can they cancel within the confirmation email? Or do they need to do something else?
Also, I have some other questions if that’s Ok?
1 – Can normal users see how many places are left for an event when viewing the event information or summary?
2 – When a user receives a confirmation email for an event, does that email have ‘add to calendar’ links in it? I’ve seen the add to calendar links on the event page but was wondering if you get them in the confirmation emails too?
3 – Is there a way of categorising events and then filtering by a drop down category? E.g. tech, design etc. So, if a user wants to see all tech events, then can select from a drop down or similar and only see those type of events?
4 – Is there any waiting list functionality for sold out/fully booked events? Many thanks, Jamie

KeymasterHi there,
Yes, its a normal product in woocommerce so they would have a login and be able to manage their order by canceling it.
- Yes, there is a “Tickets Left” count.
- Email does not have a add to calendar link but it can be added with custom development, not included with our plan.
- Yes, you can create categories and then add them in a navigation or widget.
- If its sold out, there is no waitlist unfortunately.
Hope that helps.
Thanks,

GuestSorry Brendan..one more question if that’s Ok!
Do people have to create an account to get tickets? Basically, we are looking at a ticketing system for our staff, so there will be no purchasing of tickets, just people saying they want to attend an internal event.
What we don’t want to do is force people to fill in a large registration form. We would just want their name and email address. Is this possible?
Thanks, Jamie

KeymasterHi Jamie,
Yes, they would need to fill out a form and create an account. They would not have admin access to your site but this would give them access to manage the tickets.
Hope that helps.

GuestThanks again Brendan.
What are the minimum fields required to create an account? Can we set that?
So if we just want name, email and password (plus confirm password), would that be possible, or are other fields mandatory?

KeymasterHi there,
So all they need is a username (can be email) and password then the standard event settings like a normal event.
Hope that helps.
Thanks,
