RSS feed

Just wondering — it doesn’t look like The Events Calendar utilizies the event namespace (http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/event/ defined here: http://web.resource.org/rss/1.0/modules/event/), which would seem like a natural fit. Instead, the RSS feed seems to place the event start date and time in the pubDate which is valid, but can cause interoperability problems with feed readers. For example, if I were to try and use a feed from The Events Calendar with a MailChimp RSS based campaign, it would send duplicate event notifications because the provided pubDate isn’t actually the publication date. Is this something that could be added to the roadmap? Or maybe it’s already there?

Thanks for reaching out to us! You raise a good point here, in fact we are not using the event namespace in event feeds.

I’ve searched our product backlog but couldn’t find this logged, however you are welcome to suggest this feature at The Events Calendar user voice page. We use that page to collect feedback from our community on new features – you can also up-vote or comment other feature requests.
