So I get you do not have the ability to have a user subscribe to a calendar with an Ical feed but you do have RSS.
Lets say I have 2 venue’s and 25 sports teams. I schedule the sports teams at the venue’s and set up all the events. Can I send an RSS feed for each team and dump their schedule/events into a google calendar?
I could make this work if I could send a feed for each team and each venue and then have 27 google calendars the users could subscribe to.
Thoughts on trying to work around the lack of this feature?
Great question! A category feed is definitely included by default and can be reached following this URL format:
[your-site]/events/[category-slug]/feed
I’m afraid that Venue pages in Events Calendar PRO do not include their own RSS feed. It does, however, include the ability to pull the .ics file for that venue, which can then be used in Google Calendar or other calendar applications.
Does this help clear things up a bit? Please let me know and I’d be happy to help.
For the time being, the best way to stay in touch with participants (at least through the plugin) is to use something like our free Event Tickets plugin to take RSVPs for the events, then use the report of attendees with the email application of your choice.
Any other questions about RSS or notifications that I can help with? Please let me know!
