ParticipantThe RSS for Events Calendar is built such that tag includes the start date of the event.
Obviously these dates are in the future…
This interferes with MailChimp’s automation ability to verify if there are new items in the feed and ends up sending out emails for all future events regardless of new events added to the list or not.Can you help me figure out how to customize the feed so that the event date is included in the desription and the is the actual date the post was published?
The ordering of the events would have to be by event date and not …Is this even possible?
I read these, but I’m not a programmer so I don’t know how to change this to what I need…

MemberHi Nancy!
Thanks for reaching out to us! Let me help you with this topic.
Just to confirm, you were able to merge the events feed with the blog feed by using the code provided in https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/customize-rss-feed/ but now you also need to add the event start date to the event description. Is this what you are trying to accomplish?
Please let me note that we are fairly limited in how much support we can give for custom development questions like that. But, we always like helping out and at least point users into the right direction as much possible.
So please let me know about it so I can try to come up with a snippet to achieve that.
Thanks,
