    Hi Tri-be
I am setting up a webshop selling sporting event. e.g. Kayaking and climbing.
So we have standard events called something Kayak1 Kayak2, climbing1 and climbing 2.
so say we have one of each type of event running each week. now for my questions/issues

1)When I create the Event I have to type in the same text every time. is there a smart way of reusing text or embedding it from a static page?

    2) when I create my tickets for the event a new product is created in wootickets for each event, so during a year I will create 52 product all called Kayak1 with the same desription. This seems overly complex and hard to manage. Is there any way to reuse existing products when creating a ticket?
using recurring events will not work since all tickets apply to the first instance of the event

Hi there, Martin! Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the forums. πŸ™‚

Great questions. Let’s tackle them one at a time.

1)When I create the Event I have to type in the same text every time. is there a smart way of reusing text or embedding it from a static page?

One “trick” is to create a recurring event instead. That way, you can repeat the text for all events and then break the events out of the series by editing then individually. Now you have multiple individual events that use the same text but are no longer in a recurring series.

    2) when I create my tickets for the event a new product is created in wootickets for each event, so during a year I will create 52 product all called Kayak1 with the same desription. This seems overly complex and hard to manage. Is there any way to reuse existing products when creating a ticket?

Unfortunately, bundling tickets isn’t currently supported. It has been suggested on our UserVoice page, and I’d encourage you to add your vote if you’d like to see it considered for an upcoming release. I can see how that would be a handy feature.

That said, WooCommerce does offer a Product Bundles add on that may interest you. Honestly, I unfamiliar with it, but it sounds close to what you’re looking for. Might be worth looking into.

Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know. πŸ™‚

    Cheers!

    1) yes that would work if I knew the date for every event in the future , I know I did state that events happenend once a week for simplicity, in reality we create them as the need occurs, but the content is still the same. I am currently exploring some way to use a wordpress shortcode add the same text many places.

    2) ticket bundling doesn’t seem to match my need. I realise that tri-be can’t change how wocommerce handles their plugin, but basically what I would like from the Events calender is, when creating ticket for the event to be able to choose an existing product, and/or be able to create events as copies of existing events

Hey there, Martin! Thanks for following up.

May be able to create a draft event and duplicate it when you know you want to create a new event. There are a number of plugins that add this sort of “post cloning” functionality. the key is to find one that support custom post types, like Events.

    2) ticket bundling doesn’t seem to match my need.

Ah, gotcha. I agree that this would be a stellar feature. If you have a moment, it’d be awesome if you added it to our UserVoice page. We do check there often for ideas on new features to roll into future releases.

I’m going to go ahead and close this thread since we’ve covered your questions, but please feel free to hit us up with a new thread if any other questions pop up. We’d be happy to help. πŸ™‚

    Cheers!
    Geoff
