However, it can’t be 100% correct because the date in the code says October 1, 2015 but the documentation above says January 1, 2015. And when I try the snippet provided with the current Pro release and ‘2017-06-01’ as the start date value, it doesn’t appear to work as documented. The query returns no events, displays a message in the green feedback box to that effect, and the month view displays May instead of June.
My goal is to display just the month view for June 2017 even if it is now May.

As I described, the instructions in this article don’t work using the latest builds of the core, Pro and Community Events plugins.
In our case, the month view should only ever display June 2017. I was easily able to hide the forward and back links using CSS, but I find it difficult to get the default calendar view to load to June rather than May.

Thanks for pointing me to that!
So the snippet in that article is working for me when I paste it into the functions.php file of my testing environment, but only in month view. Â So a couple questions for you:
- Is your events calendar defaulted to something other than month view?
- Also, can you confirm for me that you’re pasting without the opening “<?php”?
