GuestWe currently have a calendar that is public. However is it possible to have events on the public calendar that can only be seen if a user logs in? Use Case: There are events that we are fine with being publicly visible to anyone. However, there are several events that I want to only be seen when the user logs in. This keeps some of the events private unless you are a user on the site.
Is there any capability that allows for this?March 9, 2018 at 3:55 pm #1475259Geoff B.
MemberGood evening Tiffany and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!
Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions. The short answer is that this is totally feasible: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/making-members-calendar/
If you prefer just having some of the events private, I would recommend using a content protection plugin.
This should give you the ability to hide the content of private events using shortcodes.
Have a good weekend,

GuestI tried the second option of updating the style.css file and it did not work:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/making-members-calendar/I am using the Divi theme. Do you know if these steps have been tested with that theme? I still see the calendar event that I added to the Members Only category.

MemberGood evening Tiffany,
Thank you for writing back.
I am sorry to hear that the CSS trick did not appear to work for you. Before we continue, just to set expectations, the scope of our support is mostly to get our customers started on the right track and to help them in case of issues. We unfortunately do not provide complete support for customization.
With that in mind, provided you followed exactly the steps presented in the Knowledge Base article, I can confirm that this does work with Divi.
You will need to use the Google Chrome inspector make sure that you are using precisely the correct CSS selector for the category name you chose.
If you are still struggling, I would recommend using either the other approach or one of the following plugins: https://colorlib.com/wp/content-protection-plugins-wordpress/
Have a great day!
