When I originally put my event calendar together, there was a sidebar on the right side of all my calendar, event, and event submission pages. I cleared the sidebar of everything but the Events Calendar widget, so site visitors would see the list of events on every calendar page. At 2:00 am this morning, I wanted to see what these pages looked like without the sidebar, so I removed my Event widget and did something to remove the sidebar altogether. This morning, I want it back. I replaced the widget into the sidebar, but cannot remember how to get the sidebar to be visible on those pages again. I know it doesn’t require coding, because I didn’t do anything with code to put it there in the first place. In the future, I should avoid making these changes at 2:00 am, so I can remember what I have done if i don’t like it. LOL

    Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out to us! I’d be happy to help you.

My first advice indeed would be to not make changes at 2:00 am, especially on a Friday night 🙂

Whether the sidebar is displayed or not depends a lot on your theme, especially if you display your calendar using a shortcode on a page. What theme are you using? Does it have different templates? Sometimes, you’ll have the choice between a default layout and a full-width layout, the latter being used to display a page without the sidebar. So make sure your calendar pages don’t use a full-width layout or anything similar.

Also, make sure your widgets are placed in the appropriate sidebar, as themes usually have different sidebar zones to choose from.

Please let me know how it goes,

    Cheers,
    Jeremy

Thanks for your response, Jeremy. I will take your advice and refrain from 2:00 am site experimentation:).

I’ll check into the items you mentioned above. The weird thing is that I have done two sites with the same theme and the same events calendar plugin, and both showed up with a sidebar. I don’t think I did anything to put them there. I am so new to this, though, that I am having a difficult time keeping track of what I have done, since I am learning as go along.

To answer your question, I am using Divi Theme for my site.

Off to try a few of your suggestions!

    Thanks again,
    Amanda

    Hi Amanda,

With the Divi theme, here is how you can get the sidebar back: you should head to Events > Settings > Display tab, and then, select Default Page template as your Events template.

    This should solve your problem.

Let me know if it worked or not!

    Cheers,
    Jeremy

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
