I’m trying out Facebook imports and in a lot of cases the venue address is not getting imported correctly.

An address on Facebook like “streetname 23, Berlin” which works fine on Facebook map view only results in a venue named “streetname 23, Berlin” in Events Calendar with empty address information.

What are the requirement for address data on Facebook to be properly imported into Events Calendar? street name, number and city obviously – what else?

How does this work in the background – what library or service is being used to converted the location string to structed address data?

Here’s a sample event that is not getting imported correctly:

    Hi,

Thanks for trying out the Facebook Importer.

With the 2.3 Graph API the location information is stored in the Page Object and there is no longer a venue or location included when we request the information.

We get the information from Facebook and use Google for the mapping.

That requires a complete address to find the location and “streetname 23, Berlin” is not enough information.

This event is an example of an address that imports correctly for me:

Let me know if you have any follow up questions.

    Thanks
