ParticipantI am having issues with reoccurring events duplicates. It doesn’t seem to be happening to new events and it didn’t happen to every event, but in each case that it happened it created three versions of the same event. I did see that others have had this problem as well and no real solution was posted for cleaning up duplicates quickly (the thread was closed or I would have posted there). Hopefully this bug has since been fixed (would love to know the status of the fix this is really time consuming).
Additionally, I wanted to let people know how I cleaned up the duplicates fairly quickly (sorta)…
Pick one event that is showing duplicates from the events list.
Edit all of the series
Put a * or some other notation in the title, update, and copy the title
Go back to the event lists and paste the new title into the search bar
Select all
Bulk deleteSeptember 23, 2015 at 11:50 am #1007969Erin
ParticipantIGNORE THAT LAST ADVICE!! while it seemed like a good idea, just opening the event and updating cleaned up all the duplicates.

ParticipantHey Erin,
I’m sorry that recurring events are causing some trouble for you – what sorts of events do you get duplicates for? In other words, do duplicates appear for any recurring event you create, or are there specific settings that seem to create duplicates?

ParticipantIt hasn’t been happening every time I have created reoccurring events. It hasn’t even happened when I created reoccurring events. I recently moved my website from one server to another and after that I have about 1/3 of my reoccurring events and the associated organizers (user created add-on pluggin) and venues had duplicates. I am guessing that I accidentally interrupted an update during the transfer or it was just an error during transfer. When I searched your support forum I noticed that others had a similar problem and various solutions which primarily focused on deleting and starting over. I tried to find an easier way and discovered that when I opened a duplicated event post to edit it (was checking to see what was different about posts that duplicated and those that did not) I couldn’t find anything wrong. So I just clicked update and the duplicates disappeared. I just wanted to let others who have had this problem know that this fix, while still a bit time consuming, was less time consuming than starting over. I will let you know if it happens again, but as for right now, this thread was mostly an fyi for other users.

ParticipantHey Erin,
Thanks so much for your explanation here – I’m sorry about my original misunderstanding of the purpose of your post, but appreciate you sharing your solution so that others can learn from it.
Thanks for posting Erin!
