Renaming "Organizer"

I followed the prescription in Relabeling the Venue & Organizer sections in event meta KB article to rename “Organizer” to “Event Director”. It worked for the event listing.

However, it broke all the links to the organizer pages. These are still at “/organizer/organizer_name” but after making the changes specified by the KB article, all links point to “/event-director/organizer_name” which results in a “page not found” error.

How does one update the slug used for the organizer to resolve this issue?

Hello and welcome back,

Once you save the changes on your functions.php file file, visit Settings > Permalinks in your WordPress dashboard and hit the “Save Changes” button. This is known as flushing your permalinks. Once you’ve done so, you shouldn’t get the 404 page not found error. Let me know how it goes!
