Removing two buttons from Event

I tried finding in Knowledgebase, but couldn’t. How can I remove the Google Calendar button and the ICAL export button from each event? (Do not confuse with Google Maps. I want to keep that and it’s working OK). See image below of the 2 buttons I would like to remove

To remove the “Export” Links from Event Views, you can add the following snippet in theme’s functions.php file (without the <?php opening tag):

It didn’t work (see instructions from Patricia below). I tried it with and without the <?php opening tag. The buttons appear AFTER you select the “event” on a date in the calendar.
If you go to our page: http://www.victoryfirearmstrainingllc.com/files/event/nrs-basic-pistol/ and scroll down, you will see where the buttons are located.
I am inserting the code right after the code that loads the “contact” form. Maybe I am inserting it in the wrong location.

The snippet is working properly in my local WordPress install. Could you please make sure that:

• You are adding the snippet in your theme’s functions.php file or in your own custom plugin?
• Also, please purge your site cache and your browser cache after this change.
