I’ve looked throughout the knowledgebase and forums and only have minimal success in getting an answer to this question.

I have certain types of events I’d like my readers to know about, but to which they are not invited. These may be closed events for specific clients, but which have broader marketing value I’d like to let everyone know is happening.

In these cases, I’d like to turn off the ical / gcal icons and links.

So far, I’ve found an old post about removing the links here:
    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/remove-ical-and-google-calendar-links-from-single-event-view/
But that doesn’t work on my site, even in the single-event case – so something’s wrong either in the original code or in my copy/paste.

    But

I’m trying to not show the ical / gcal icons and links anywhere for these types of events (which I could distinguish by “venue” or “organizer” or by “category”.

Any help would be appreciated as I would love to use this plug-in. It’s truly great!

    Howdy Leo,

Thanks for taking the time to reach out. I appreciate your bringing an old tutorial to our attention. However that tutorial actually is up-to-date. It was updated just last month, and I just retested the steps it outlines and they do work.

If you need help customizing it do selectively show those links for some events or categories, then you can definitely get some help. If you have a pro license then please open up a topic here in our support forum (as opposed ot the pre-sales). Or, if you don’t have a license the the volunteer community on WordPress.org: The Events Calendar would still be available.

    Does that all make sense?

    Cheers!
