Removing categories from the main calendar

Hi,
I segment my events into about 150 categories (10 topics across 15 cities) in the back end,

however, sensibly I woud only like to show the 10 topics in the home events in the Pro Filter Bar.

Coud you give me a snippet pof code to fix this?

Just to let you know, we are limited by our Support Policy in how much we can help with customizations, but I will try to point you in the right direction.

Do you have all of your cities and topics listed within your categories?  Are you therefore looking to just hide some of your categories?
