Remove mini calendar, leave the event feed

Hi there,
because obviously you cannot help me to fix the issue with the size of mini calendar widget in the side bar, can you let me know if it is easy to remove the calendar grid and leave just the feed under it (which lines to remove and where). I know there is a separate widget for the feed but it is so boring so I would have the feed under mini calendar widget even without the mini calendar. I hope you can help.
