Remove event early from the list

Hi there

We have events where users have to sign up one week in advance. Is it possible to remove an event from the lists at this time, so that it does not appear in the widgets with the next events? We do not want to delete the event. It may appear in the calendar view (does not have to, if that is technically more complex).

Hello Marcial,

Thanks for reaching out! I will try to help with this.

There is no built in way to do this, other than manually going in and clicking “Hide from Event Listings” or setting the published status to “draft” or similar.

However, you can check out this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/post-expirator/ which will allow you to set an expiration date on the event.

Thanks for the hint. I already used that plugin before for something completely different so I didn’t tought about this solution this time. I implemented it for now, even though it’s not optimal that the events disappear.

I also didn’t knew about the option to “Hide from Event Listings”, that’s actually exactly what I wanted. Maybe we can do that manually when needed.
