Remove Category from Photo / Month / List View

I have a category which I want to remove from my events lists, but show as photo/month/list it’s own category, this is for community weekly events.

Is this something that is being considered as an update, so you can choose to “remove” certain categories from the main list, so this does not have to be done in code!

This is kind of having 2 calendars, one for Main Events and one for Community Events

I am trying to take out this category from the photo / month view please

This is the slug – community_calendar

I am not a web developer, so would need to pass this info onto one to add the code to.

Thanks for following up.

The full snippet that you would use would be found here https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/hide-category-from-main-calendar-but-not-category-calendar/#dl_post-1012460.

You would add that to your theme’s functions.php file and you would just need to change the terms in the array on line 19 to match the category terms that you would like hidden from the calendar.

If you’re passing this onto a developer to add, this should be more than enough information for them to accomplish what you’re looking for here.

Are you wanting a snippet that now just removes the category from the Photo view but still has it in the other views (Month, List, etc.)?

Also, what is the exact category slug that you’re wanting to have hidden?

Yes that’s right, if we can remove the category ‘community_calendar’ from the photo view, I can then create the list view for each category within that.

If you could let me have the snippet for that, we would really appreciate it.
