ParticipantHi guys. I have just newly bought Calendar Pro the other day and I was happy to see already a new release. Well, installing the release didn’t work automatically (an error showed up about how downloading failed) so I installed it manually. Anyway. It crashes the admin session anytime an attempt is made to edit any page. The error is:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 71 bytes) in /var/www/ny/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1565
However the runtime of everything seems to work. Only the admin crashes. But just generally speaking, the admin is noticably very very slow. If I deactivate the Calendar pro then everything is fast and no more crashes. Activate it and all problems come back

ParticipantAs I navigate through the admin panel, I see it isn’t just pages that crash. Editing any Posts crashes as well. About the slowness problem. I think I have to take that back. I am not sure about the slowness part.. It seems intermittant so it is probably something else.

MemberHi Thomas: I’m afraid I cannot replicate this issue.
Is it possible something else is conflicting? Have you tried deactivating all other plugins and reverting to a default theme (and does this problem still occur then)?
It might be that your PHP memory_limit needs to be adjusted upwards – and it could be worth talking to your host to see if there are any restrictions on this.
Does that help at all?

ParticipantHi Barry. Thanks for trying and the advice. When I turned off all other plugins it began to work. When turning them back on one at a time I found the conflict. The conflict is with another plugin called “Page Builder by SiteOrigin”. I’m not sure yet I even need that plugin. I think it just came bundled together with my theme “Virtue-Premium” as an unnecessary extra. So just out of curiosity I wonder if there any advice on how to fix such conflicts? I am a lifetime programmer with thousands of php programming hours behind me.

ParticipantI just had an idea about the problem. You see, Calendar Pro version 3.4 didn’t give the problem but installing 3.5 did. Can it possibly be the order of installation that makes the difference? It worked when the installation order was yours first and then theirs. Now it is theirs first and then yours? Perhaps I shouldn’t be so lazy and just try it :S

MemberIf it only occurs with Page Builder and you don’t need it then it probably is indeed easiest to simply deactivate it 🙂
Ii is also possible load order is relevant but it may simply be having both active at the same time is in a sense taking you passed a memory usage ‘tipping point’. Or, it could be a bug.
If you can increase the amount of memory available to PHP and also increase the memory_limit setting then that would be a good test of this – but, again, if that other plugin is something you don’t need then disposing of it is going to be the easiest path here.
Thanks!
