Release Notes wish list

I wish the release notes contained a list of all the VIEW files modified between versions. Why? Custom theming.

When customizing views built on version A, and along comes version B. Knowing what has changed at the file level would greatly help identify the changes needed to the customized files.

As it stands now, I have to run a file/folder diff against the the new and old folders to find the changes between versions and determine whether or not the custom files need updating too.

Hey Matthew, thanks for reaching out!

We couldn’t agree more. In fact, we always publish a post that covers high level things to watch for, including which templates are being modified in a release. Here’s the post for 4.1:

We could certainly be better about linking the release notes up to that post to bridge any gap in communication, so that’s been noted and we’ll make an effort to do a better job of that moving forward.
