Release: The Events Calendar 4.0 + all add-ons

Hey folks,

We’re happy to announce that The Events Calendar 4.0 has landed and is now available to download.

This one’s a biggie and, if you’re here, you might be looking for support as you make the transition from Version 3.x to the latest and greatest. Please know that The Events Calendar 4.0 is a radical departure from the previous version and, as such, you will want to test the latest plugins in a test environment before updating. If you have customized the plugin or any of the add-ons in the past, then you will most definitely want to exercise caution and test this update against your changes before updating on a live site.

That said, please do see our release notes for a full account of what has changed in The Events Calendar and all the premiums add-ons. We’ve also published a post on high-level things to watch for as you make the transition. If you’ve made any customizations to the plugin are have worked with the plugin’s filters at any point in time, then you are going to want to read these posts so you are aware of what has changed and should be considered before updating to The Events Calendar 4.0 and any of the premium add-ons.

If you’re working with a stock version of The Events Calendar, then we expect smooth sailing for you right out of the box. But, as always, please do open a thread here in the forums if you happen to hit trouble and we’d be happy to help.

Please Note: Use the Bulk Update option in WordPress if you are running The Events Calendar with multiple add-ons. We have encountered an issue where activating The Events Calendar 4.0 and Community Events separately can cause a fatal error and are working on a fix in the meantime.
