As was the case with Eventbrite Tickets 1.0.2, this month’s maintenance release for Community Events (1.0.2 as well) is also quite lightweight. Make sure you’ve installed & activated The Events Calendar 2.0.8 — and Events Calendar PRO 2.0.8, if you’re a PRO user — before updating Community.
Release Notes for WordPress Community Events 1.0.2:
Small features, UX and Content Tweaks:
- Integration with Presstrends.
Bug Fixes:
- Removed unclear/confusing message warning message regarding the need for plugin consistency and added clearer warnings with appropriate links when plugins or add-ons are out date.
We’ve gotten some solid feedback from users on the Community Events forum, both in terms of feature requests and bug reports, that are helping us improve this plugin with each release. We’re now hard at work on August’s maintenance release; the team will be working to patch a couple of long-standing bugs and possibly introduce some new features in that build as well. Stay tuned…and of course, let us know if you notice anything amiss with the new code once you update to 1.0.2.

After updating EC to 2.0.8, the update pending indicator for CE disappeared and did not return even after a reboot. Deleted CE and reinstalled and all is well. Thanks guys.
July 17, 2012 at 8:59 pm #22247MattMemberI was hoping to see this release give us some relief from the broken permalinks issue (I run %category%/%postname% and can’t change it).. I still have the “Are you sure you want to do this?” problem. Maybe August?
July 19, 2012 at 9:40 am #22392RobMemberHey guys. Thanks for the follow-ups here. Glad to hear this fixed your issue, Tom – appreciate you confirming as much. Let me know if you notice any new quirks introduced in the latest codebase.
Matt: we’re planning to have the August release far more substantive; as you can see, this month really only the core Events plugin got a substantive batch of changes (the add-ons were all extremely minimal given that we had a shorter dev cycle than most months). Which thread is that discussed in, just to be sure? I want to check that it’s a high priority ticket in the 1.0.3 (August) release so we can try and get this taken care of for you. Thanks in advance!
July 19, 2012 at 9:48 am #22398MattMemberYou know what Rob? My issue is fixed- i fiddled some more with W3TC. I thought the permalinks were the problem, just needed to do some resetting… Sorry for the false alarm, however I suppose I would like to see the whole permalink thing a little more robust- and i guess that’s for august … Thanks for your proactive response.
July 24, 2012 at 2:22 pm #22672RobMemberAwesome! That’s the best news I could have asked for. Thanks for confirming, Matt. As always let us know if you need anything else.
