GuestHello,
I am interested in using The Events Calendar to manage registrations for classes, and I was wondering which add-ons I would need.
Some classes will be one-off events, but others will be multi-week series (ex. every Wednesday in April at 6pm). I want people to be able to register and pay for this class series by buying a single ticket. For the payment aspect, I believe that I will need Event Tickets Plus. Do I also need Events Calendar Pro to be able to create a recurring event? The key is that the registration has to apply to every session in the series, not just one occurrence.
Thanks,

MemberHey Megan,
Thanks for checking out our plugins!
I’m sad to say that, as of right now, the recurring events feature in Events Calendar PRO is incompatible with the ticketing feature of Event Tickets Plus. You are indeed correct that you theoretically would need both of those extensions in order to sell tickets for recurring classes, but they unfortunately do not working together.
That said, we are working on this and plan to have that in an upcoming release, though it’s possible several months down the road. Until then, you would need to set up each class individually and create tickets in each instance.
If you choose to go that route, you can do that with the following:
- The Events Calendar (free)
- Event Tickets (free)
- Event Tickets Plus
Sorry for the bad news, but does this at least help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

GuestHi Geoff,
Thank you for the clarification. I’m not sure if that workaround would work for my needs, since I don’t want people to only register for a single class in the series.
Could I have each class link to the same ticket? For example, create 4 separate events, but the “Register” link for each one would go to a registration page for the entire series. Do you think I could set up this up through WooCommerce, for example?
Thanks,

MemberHi Megan,
Thanks for following up!
I’m afraid that a ticket is tied to a specific event — so, unfortunately, linking to a ticket would not be a possible option, at least with our plugins.
One other option is to use our plugins for calendaring, then using a ticketing service like Eventbrite for the ticket creation and management. In fact, we do have a plugin that will integrate The Events Calendar with Eventbrite for that purpose.

GuestHi Geoff,
The Eventbrite option sounds interesting. Does this allow me to associate multiple events with the same Eventbrite page?
Thanks,

MemberHi Megan,
Happy Monday — I hope you had a great weekend. 🙂
Eventbrite Tickets will import an event that you create on Eventbrite.com as an event in The Events Calendar, including the tickets created for that event. I’m afraid that splitting the event into multiples on import is not supported.
