Bit of background: we’re n the process of switching from the All-in-One Event Calendar WordPress plug in because we found it couldn’t really handle the amount of events we were inputting (up to 30 a day).

I’ve bought the Pro version of Events Calendar but can’t find any way to have it present a concise listing of the forthcoming event – at the moment it lists the whole thing which is totally unworkable (see example listing here: http://www.brixtonbuzz.com/events/upcoming/ – this won’t work if we have 50 events to display – the page would stretch for miles!!)

What we need to do is to have something like this one – http://theseednetwork.com/services/calendar/ – but with a few lines more info so we can also display the venue name and cost.

Can this be easily achieved, please?
    Thanks

You should be able to do this with Template Overrides. Look in the FAQ’s for details.

OK. That’s not entirely helpful but thanks anyway.

Hey Mike. Jason is correct in that a template override (question 1 under the “Customization” section) could do this, but it seems like it’d be even easier to just change the number of items that display in the loop to something manageable so it paginates after X amount of entries. This is controlled by whatever you’ve configured under Settings -> Reading. Wouldn’t that take care of the issue with too many events?

In terms of the format on that site you linked to: that looks slick, and we may incorporate something along those lines down the road, but at this point there’s unfortunately nothing out of the box to allow for that. We mostly just have grid/list view (as well as single day & venue view) at this point.

Hope that helps. Let me know if not.
