ParticipantMy client informed me of an issue where the calendar would not show the next month when clicked on the main events calendar page. I noticed that it would “brick” and stop showing any event information prior to today’s date. The widget was also broken and would not show the next month. I had 3.4.1 of the main plugin but 3.1 of Pro. I renewed my license and updated 3.1 to 3.4 and everything went much more south. The main page could not be accessed due to excessive “redirects” and the other problems remained the same. I killed Events Calendar 3.4.1 and the site resumed as normal. Then I brought it back and removed all other plugins and went to the default 2011 theme; the front page still gave a redirect issue but the javascript issues seemed fixed. I have used Events Calendar and the theme for well over a year without issues. Not sure if something was changed with the javascript and what may be causing the front page issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I went ahead and activate the plugin for your review. The calendar now doesn’t use AJAX and works ok but the widget is still broken.March 11, 2014 at 5:44 am #117234Jonathan Swindle
ParticipantI have gone back to 3.2 for events calendar temporarily. It appears that when I try to activate Events Calendar Pro the redirect loop on the front page happens regardless of which version I have tried (matching with the version of events calendar). I only went so far back as 3.2 but will try 3.1 soon to see if the redirect loop is present.

ParticipantJonathan,
Sorry to hear you’re having trouble here, but hopefully I can help. This is a known issue with themes that do not implement body_class(). We’re going to remove the plugin’s dependency on body_class() in an upcoming release, but ultimately adding body_class() to the <body> tag of your theme is the best solution here, and is best practices for all WordPress themes.Give that a try and let me know if it does the trick. Thanks! π

ParticipantCasey,
Thank you for the helpful information. I have added the body_class() to the body tag as advised and am able to run 3.4.1 of Events Calendar. Thank you for the help!I do still however have an issue with the redirect loops when Events Calendar Pro is activated. Any recommendations on what to do to resolve this?

ParticipantJonathan,
After activating PRO again, can you try resetting your WordPress permalinks by going to Settings->Permalinks and clicking save again? After trying to that, if you’re still seeing the redirect issue, try deactivating all other plugins to see if that resolves the issue. If that fixes it, then try reactivating them one-by-one to determine if another plugin is the culprit. Give that a try and let me know what you discover. Thanks! π-Casey-
