    Dear guys

I am very disappointed with Tribe. You have a brilliant product but sadly the work is poor.

Since the update, recurring events are now broken. Why did you release something that appears to be untested?

I am also reading through threads where you’ve offered to deliver changes and those changes are still awaiting inclusion and then fobbing us off with it’s not in our timeline.

Please, please, please stop making half working products and just concentrate on the ones you have released and working on the issues that have been highlighted.

It won’t take much for another company to gather a few developers and make this product 150% better.

    IMPORTANT ISSUES I PERSONALLY HAVE:
    SEO for Events .
    Recurring Events.
Facebook Events – Check & update events.
    Shortcodes.

    Hi spottedinely,

Thanks for reaching out to us and I’m really sorry to hear about the problems you’ve been hitting here since the 3.10 update. 🙁

I totally understand the frustration that comes when you expect something to work and it doesn’t. We’ve clearly let you down there but I’m confident that we can help you get things working smoothly again.

Before we jump in, I do want to address one comment specifically:

Why did you release something that appears to be untested?

I’m truly disappointed to hear this because we do put in a significant chunk of time solely to testing the plugins before releasing any updates. In fact, we knew 3.10 was going to be such a big update that we dedicated hundreds of hours just to the quality assurance process and even opened the plugins up to a group of customers prior to the release to help us test. That said, this is the first report of an issue that has been reported related to Recurring Events since the 3.10 launch two weeks ago. I’m not saying there isn’t a real issue here and I’m really confident we can figure what what’s happening, but I hope you see the intentionality we’ve put into our work to release the best product possible and that this report isn’t reflective of not properly testing.

Jumping into the recurring events issues you are having, will you please elaborate on what’s not working after the update? If you could walk me through the steps you’re following and what the outcome is (screenshot help too!) I’ll do my best to troubleshoot this with you and get things back on track.

You also listed three additional issues you’re having. It would be great if you could open individual threads for each one so we can focus on one topic at a time and make sure we hit each one specifically. In the meantime, I’ll be helping you out with recurring events in this thread.

Thanks again for reaching out and sorry again for any issues popping up here. Let’s start here and see what we can dig up and troubleshoot together for recurring events.

    Best,
    Nico

    Hi Nico

Rather than screenshot, please go to http://spottedinely.com/event/z-cakes-fundraising-auction/2015-06-01/ and then select Recurring event (See all), these were working prior to new release

    Hi Mark,

Thanks for the follow-up! I get you now.

I can see recurrence if I access it via ‘ugly URL’ (take a look), but not via ‘nice URL’ as you point out. So this looks like a permalink issue. Can you please regenerate permalinks? You can do so in ‘WP-Admin > Settings > Permalinks’, just click ‘Save Changes’.

Please let me know if re-generating permalinks fixes the issue,
    Best,
    Nico

Nope this hasn’t fixed it and now the other issue of the events page loading after update cart from woocommerce has returned.

This once a day response isn’t working for me. This site is live and active, very active!!

    Hey Mark,

Sorry to hear the issue is still there. I was looking at the other thread Josh is helping you out with, and I noticed from your sys info you are not runnning the latest version of The Events Calendar: Facebook Events. Latest version is 3.10 and you seem to be running version 3.9.4. Not sure if that’s causing the issue we are dealing with here but it might be.

If updating Facebook Events doesn’t solve this, I will need you to go through the steps described in our Testing for conflicts guide, so we can discard this being a conflict with other plugin or some code in your theme. You may need to create a staging/test site to do so if you only have the online site to test for this.

I’ll try to be on top of this as I now know it’s urgent for you.

    Please keep me updated,
    Best,
    Nico
