ParticipantI just upgraded to Pro so I could set a recurring yearly event that started on a date from long ago. I wanted to use it as a “happened on this date” kind of thing. The problem is however, if I choose a start date of say, 1902 and select a Yearly reoccurrence, it fills in every calendar square up the the current date, but will post on the following year accurately.
How do I set this up so that it will only post on the calendar once a year on a certain date? http://marbleheadhistory.org/Mhead1629/events/ I set the date for Dec 25, 1900’s and I did that on the 14th of Dec, 2016, so that’s when the post seemed to stop displaying, you’ll see the gap after that, then the post works, and continues going forward correctly to 2017 and beyond.
Thanks for your advice!

MemberHey Pete,
Thanks for getting in touch with us! I can help you on this 🙂
I think the problem here is the end date of the event, let me explain. For example, let’s say I want to create a Xmas event that is taking place every year on December 25 the recurring settings for such event should be:

Note in the example above the event end date should be the one for the first instance of the event. Not the one in which you want the recurrence to end!
Please let me know if this helps,

ParticipantThanks! I had End Date & Time set to the future, your configuration worked. My next question is, and let me know if you want this in a new thread, is there an easier way to choose a start date that is far older? The only way I see now is to keep going backwards with drop down, but that only allows 10 years at a time. Most of my start dates will be 1-2 hundred years ago 🙂
Thanks again,

MemberGlad that worked Pete! Love to see an unusual use of our plugins 🙂

It’s ok, we can continue in this thread. No quite sure I follow you here, just to be sure can you send a screenshot of the input you are referring to? Dates can be manually entered in the backend fields if that is what mean.
Please let me know about it,

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
