    Hello

We have events that we would like to duplicate, but they do not necessarily follow a pattern with dates.

Other than creating them anew every time, is there a way to duplicate or copy an existing event that we can then simply edit the dates of?

    Cheers

    Hi Bryan,

You can use the recurring events feature and select “Once” when creating your recurrence rules, which will let you set specific dates (instead of a pattern).

Alternatively, you could use a plugin like Post Duplicator to make a copy of single events and then change any details that you would like in the copy.

Let me know if you have any questions!

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

    Thanks – got it.

Now….what about in the situation where the venue changes – is it possible to use different venues in recurring events?

    Cheers!

    Hi Bryan,

Unfortunately it is not currently possible to change details like the venue for specific instances of a recurring event, although we are working on changing this for the future. I would recommend casting your vote for this feature request here, which helps us gauge user interest in new features and help guide future development efforts.

For the time being, your best bet would be to duplicate the events as you mentioned before and then change any details as needed. You could also create the events as recurring and then break the events you need to change from the series. Just note that this will make them independent events, meaning that changes made to the series will no longer affect those events.

No problem! Since this has been marked “resolved”, I’ll go ahead and close it out. Feel free to open up a new thread if you have any other questions 🙂
