ParticipantHi,
I recently created a recurring event. I created a board meeting event that meets on the same day of the week each month, but my issue is I am trying to change specific details for each month, and when I make changes on the event, it applies to all the events.
How do I make changes to a specific event date if it is part of a recurring event?

MemberThe short answer is that you cannot.
You can “break” a chain of events in two, however, by making a change and applying to all. What actually happens here is that the change is applied to the event you are editing and all future instances of the same event, any events in the pattern before this point are left unchanged.
That aside, it isn’t currently possible to modify single event descriptions or other attributes within a chain of recurring events, I’m afraid.

ParticipantThat is really inconvenient, what is the point of having recurring events? What if the event takes place on the same date and time each month but is at a different location? The whole point of recurring events is to eliminate me having to re-create the event for each month, but I should be able to edit each event in a series individually. Please look into making this change, or I may be asking for a refund.
Thank you.
Am I at least able to duplicate events so that I can get all the same info copied into a new event?

MemberSure, I can appreciate that. To give some background though the idea was to base the calendar’s functionality on industry standards, including the behaviour of popular solutions like Google Calendar.
It’s a valid idea though and may very well have already been added as a feature request over on our UserVoice page – so feel free to add your support (or even add a new request if you can’t find that one): https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas
Since this would require fairly substantial and probably non-backward compatible changes though I wouldn’t envision it becoming a reality in the forseeable future.

Not with our plugin alone, but I believe there may be a handy post duplicator plugin available over at wordpress.org/plugins that you could use for this.
