Basically, all the recurring events are grabbing the the first date in the sequence and not the actual event date (so if an event was from recurring once a week for four weeks, say, Feb. 1 8 15 22 28 — if it is the 16th, it should link to the 22nd but it links to the 1st.).
This is only when we use the widget or pull the events using a custom query the grid and list views are working properly
That’s strange; the upcoming events widget should definitely be linking to the correct instance and not just the first event in the sequence.
You annotated that you had tried deactivating other plugins and also reverting to a default theme: thanks for doing that – can you confirm if that made any difference to the problem?
Puzzling. Can you share your custom query code and also confirm that it wasn’t running/in-place when you ran through those troubleshooting steps?
Well, I’m not using the custom query anymore; I’m just using the Widget included with the pro version. I simply used the custom query to test to see if it was something wrong with the widget or if it was something with the plugin itself, make sense? Let me know if you still want me to pull the code for you.
No not if it isn’t in use – it just crossed my mind that it could interfere with other event loops, depending on how it was written.
Do you have a staging/development site, or are you in a position to create a fresh installation of WordPress for testing purposes? If so (and only initially installing and activating The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO – stick to Twenty Twelve initially, too) can you set up a few recurring events and see if this occurs under those conditions?
