Recently it seems that recurring events are no longer being created for us.
I’ve deactivated all plugins apart from The Events Calendar (+ Pro, + Filter Bar), and switched to Twenty-Fifteen theme, and the issue is still there.
It looks like a data creation issue. I never see the progress bar after publishing a new recurring event, and afterwards there’s only one new post in the posts table.
I saw this thread:
and realised that recently we did change the date format under Events > Settings > Display. However, nothing seems to change if I change those formats (which surely only affect display, not the data itself?).
Anyway, I’m stuck trying to work out why this problem’s arisen. Any pointed for further debugging?

It sounds like you might be affected by the same bug that Brian describes in the thread you linked. Make sure that date picker format is now set to month/day/year -https://cloudup.com/cWMDSM8SpNs- and try re-saving the events again or creating a new test recurring event to check if it’s correctly generated now.

I’m currently on another dev machine, where the date format settings haven’t been changed, and the recurring events are being created OK. The datepicker format is set to 2015-01-15.
Now, the environment where we’ve changed the datepicker format and recurring events aren’t being created is the staging server. The client has spent quite some time populating the events section in preparation for launch. Do you think we’ll have to delete and re-create events created while the datepicker was in day-first format?
Also, do you know when this bug is going to be fixed? We’re in the UK and obviously it’s best if we can actually use the option that’s provided to change the datepicker format, without breaking the functionality!

Thanks for following-up on this, and sorry for the inconvenience this might be causing to your work 🙁
In the staging environment you can try to set the date to month-day-year, then edit the events -checking that the dates are correct in the pickers- and re-saving them. I think that the recurrence will be regenerated correctly. Please try this first with one event to check if it’s solves the problem.
Unless something unexpected comes up the fix for this will be included in the upcoming release – in fact it’s already developed and pending QA. If everything continues to go as planned the new release should be seeing the light in about two weeks. Please bear in mind this dates are estimates and things can change!
Please let me know if this fix works well on the staging server,
