ParticipantI can’t get the reoccurring events to show on ever day that they should appear.
The site is for a restaurant and they want to have their specials listed on their calendar.
So let say Monday is burger day. They want it to say burger day on every Monday on their calendar without having to type it out on every monday.
I have purchased The Events Calendar & pro and watched your tutorials on it. Did I buy the wrong plugin or is this something that your plugin does and I am missing something?December 9, 2014 at 5:42 pm #913573Brian
MemberHello,
Thanks for purchasing Pro and sorry for the issues you are having with the Recurring Events. I can help you out. Pro is the plugin that controls Recurring Events so you have the right plugin.
I have some questions for you to get to the bottom of this:
Is it showing any events past the first instance?
Did you create the event and then try to create a recurring event after publishing? If you create new recurring event does it work?
Also can you please tell me all your setting you are using for a recurring event that is not working? (dates, times, end date, etc)
Let know and we can go from there.
Thanks

ParticipantIt is not showing any events past the first instance?
No it was a new event when i made it recurring.
I created the recurring event using:All Day event = yes
recurrence = Custom
will end = never
frequency = weekly
every = 1 weeks
mondayThank you for your time. I really appreciate it.

MemberThanks for that information. I tested using those settings and got it to work so lets go to the next steps on this to troubleshoot it.
When you are in the backend of the site do you see the test event only in the event list? And no other instance of it?
Can you try to create a new recurring event with the same settings and let me know if you get this message after publishing:
“104 instances of this event have been created through December 5, 2016. Learn more.”
The dates and total number maybe different.
Permalinks/Windows Server
Also I noticed your site has index.php in the url that is not something that is typically there and could be causing the issues.I ran a test on your site too and it showed you are using a windows server, so actually not sure how to remove that. From what I saw there are redirect issues using WordPress on a Windows server that have to be worked out, but that is beyond the support we can provide.
Let me know what you find out and we can go from there.
Thanks

Participant1 instances of this event have been created through December 15, 2014. Learn more.
The above message is what I get when I make the event

MemberOk so it looks like the Recurring Event is not even being created. Can you try one more time to create a recurring event and see if that changes anything.
Instead of saying it will end Never can you please pick a date in January 2015 and then create the event.
I would like to test if on a Windows Server it does not recognize Never and therefore is only creating one Event.
Permalinks
And you should be able to use Pretty Permalinks with the Default Post Name. It is just your url looked like this:http://yoursite.com/index.php/events/
That index.php is not typical and looks to be because of the Windows Server.
Let me know what you find out from that and if that does not work I can have you follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide to see if that finds a conflict causing this.

Thanks

ParticipantI have tried what you suggested and it is still not working.

MemberUnfortunately, there is not much else we can offer for support on a Windows Server to resolve this immediately.
Is it possible you can move your site to a Linux Server?
If not you can email us with your receipt number to pro(at)tribe and we can offer a refund.
Let me know what you would like to do.
Thanks

ParticipantI figured it out. it was the “Clean up recurring events after”. I had it set to a really high number and it didn’t work. I had it set at 24000 months or something. that is what was crashing it. Thank you!

MemberGreat, glad you were able to figure it out. Sorry for missing that step that is something I should have had you change. I will remember that in the future.
I am going to close this ticket, but if you need anything else related to this topic or another please post a new topic on the forum and we can help you out.
Thanks
