    Hi there, we have the Events Calendar Pro installed on our site but are having a lot of problems having it load, thus bogging down the entire site. We do have several indefinite reoccurring events as we have weekly events that occur ongoing. I’ve been reading that those can certainly slow things down, but I need help with a fix. I did change our settings to only create reoccurring events for 6 months instead of 12, but that doesn’t change all of the events existing in our database. Is there a way I can change those existing events to have only 6 months worth?

    Hi. Sorry your site’s performance isn’t great.

    If it’s not a concern for your site, you might want to just delete past events. This is an option available at wp-admin > Events > Settings > General tab (https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/wp-admin-settings-overview/#general)

    Note that moving events to the Trash isn’t going to help cleanup your database/site speed.

    How many events do you have (a screenshot would be fine)?

    Hi Cliff,

    I actually keep past events cleaned out of our system and have the settings
    set to delete past 1 month. We have over a 1,000 events now, many of which
    are reoccurring and repeat indefinitely. We just recently changed the
    settings to only create 6 months of repeating events to keep it a lower
    amount of events. However, all existing events in our database still have
    like 12 months of events created. Is there a way to clean those up to only
    6 months?
