ParticipantHi,
I did a search for this but wasn’t able to find anything, so I apologize if it was already addressed. I received a call from our hosting company because they said the Calendar was taking up too much space. I logged on to see what was going on, and the Calendar had somehow created 166,000 events. I had only entered data for the first 6 months, and it somehow had duplicated itself through several years. I have tried editing a recurring event, but it doesn’t change all of the upcoming events and keeps showing an error message. Do you have any advice on this? Or is there a way to delete all events and start over?
Thank you!
All the best,
EricaJuly 17, 2014 at 5:18 pm #433835kmcca
ParticipantCan you let me know if there is a fix? Or if there is a way to delete all 166,000+ events and start fresh?
Thank you!July 18, 2014 at 9:41 am #445945Casey
ParticipantErica,
Thanks for getting in touch and I’m so sorry to hear you’re having trouble here, but hopefully I can help. At this point, I think your best bet is to start fresh and see if that helps to resolve some of these issues. I would suggest installing a third-party plugin, event rocket, that will allow you to delete all Event-related data and start fresh. After installing the plugin, go to ‘Tools->Event Data Clean Up’ to remove all Calendar data. Keep in mind that this will delete all Events-related data, so I would definitely make sure to back up your database first, just in case you decide that you needed that data afterall.
Give that a try and let me know if that helps to resolve the issue. Thanks! π

ParticipantHi Casey,
Thank you! I installed that plug in and deleted all the events, so I’m going to start reentering them now. Made it immensely easier than trying to delete 20 out of 166,000+ at a time! I’ll keep you posted if anything else arises. Thank you for you help πJuly 20, 2014 at 8:26 pm #465893Casey
