ParticipantRecurring events duplicates happened to me before, so I installed the plugin, The Events Calendar – Cleanup Recurrence Duplicates and it was solved.
But it’s happening again.
I have tried the same thing again and again, but the duplicates are still there.
Please help me solve this problem.December 12, 2014 at 11:29 pm #917009shinytiger
ParticipantAlso, I set “Create recurring events in advance for” 2 months and changed it to just 1 month now. But the events are created ahead more than 2 months.

ParticipantHello shinytiger,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
I apologize for the inconveniences you’ve had in using our plugin. Hopefully we can help to get this cleared up for you. When this happened previously, was it after updating the plugin and existing recurring events became duplicated? Are the events now duplicating when you create a new recurring event or does it become duplicated randomly at a later point ( you create the event and it seems fine but you come back a day or so later and there are multiple versions of the duplicated events)?
Also, I tested the setting for how long in advance to create recurring events and it worked fine on my local install. You could try the Testing for Conflicts procedures to see if there is a conflict between another plugin or your theme that is causing the recurring feature to not be working as it’s supposed to. This could also be a contributing factor to the duplicating issue above.
I’m sorry I wasn’t able to give you a direct response however I hope this was able to point you in the right direction.
Thanks!

ParticipantThe events are getting duplicated randomly at a later point (I create the event and it seems fine but you come back a day or so later and there are multiple versions of the duplicated events)
So I can’t test by switching to other theme and deactivating all the plugins.
Also, there are duplicates of NON-RECURRING events, too. Did this happen before?December 15, 2014 at 8:59 am #918755shinytiger
ParticipantI manually deleted everything after Jan 1 and changed all the recurring events’ ending date until the end of this year and clicked on “Merge Duplicate Recurring Events” multiple times. .
I have been let those recurring events go for years like from early 2013. Maybe I used it for too long. From now on, I will set recurring event for no longer than 2 months.
Hope this helps prevent future duplicates/problems.
I will report back to you if problem occurs again.December 16, 2014 at 7:39 am #919851Josh
ParticipantHello shinytiger,
Thanks for following up with us!
Definitely a strange issue. Let me know if the settings you’ve adjusted make a difference.
To test for a conflict, you could try creating another install with your hosting provider as a subdomain of your current site. You could then start with a blank slate and start adding the plugins and themes 1 by 1 over to see if one of the plugins or the them is the culprit.
I apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused. Let me know how the previous adjustments work for you.
Thanks!
