Recurring events – different venues

I’m brand new to TECPro and these forums so forgive me if this has already been asked, I’m asking in the wrong place, or breaking some other kind of cultural protocol….

Is there a way to have a recurring event where each subsequent event has a different venue? My organization is hosting a weekly event that highlights different areas in our city. So, all of the events take place within a single ‘series’ but the location is different for each week.

Can this be done?

Hi Ethan,

The easiest way to achieve this would be to first create your recurring events. Then go to Events and mouse over to edit individual events. From there, modify the venue as needed.

Thanks for the quick reply, Courtney. Unfortunately, the only two editing option are to break that individual event out of the series (causing it to NOT display when users click to “see all” in a series), or to edit all upcoming events, breaking the series into multiple series.

Hi Ethan

Unfortunately, it does break the series. You could use a tag or category for events in this series and link people to the tag or category url if you’d like.

It would look like http://yoursite.com/tag/your-tag

Or http://yoursite.com/category/your-category

I wish I had a better solution to offer. Would either of these methods work for you?

I think those options would work great for linking to the events from external sites!
Is there a “feature request” forum where I could suggest this type of feature be integrated in the future?
