ParticipantHi There,
I reached out last year on some issues we were having – https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/recurring-events-46/#dl_post-1145461 with the recurring events and basically the fact that the recurring events have a global capacity rather than individual events capacity, this meant it was not workable for us (we run the same show, same venue, with a nightly capacity)
Has any work been done on this? And if so do you have any idea when it will be live?

MemberGood afternoon James and welcome back!
The short answer is yes. We have started work on this: https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/3685663-recurring-event-support-for-tickets
I still do not have an ETA for you at this point, but I can tell you that we are almost done completely rebuilding our recurring event code. This was a necessary step to allow recurring events ticket support.
In the meantime, some of our users create recurring events and “break them” from the series (turning them into independent single events – which in turn provides individual capacity).
The obvious downside is that this removes them from the series.
I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have unfortunately.
Have a great day!

ParticipantHi Geoff,
Thanks for the update.
As we will be running events for the entire year, your suggestion would just be too admin hungry to break each one out of the recurring group.
Are you talking weeks / months / years before your work is done on it?

MemberGood afternoon James,
I totally understand what you mean.
To answer the second part of your question since this is a highly complex piece of coding (and based on the amount of time it took to redesign recurring events), the answer is likely months at this point.
We can’t wait to release this feature ourselves, so if all goes according to plan, this should make it in this year’s releases.
Best regards,
Geoff B.

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
