ParticipantHi Casey,
I deleted all duplicates and then updated all instances before upgrading to 3.5.1 directly from 3.4 as you recommended yet the recurring problem of creating duplicates still persists. I yet again have hundreds (and soon thousands) of duplicates. This has been insanely frustrating and time consuming. How can this problem be mitigated asap?April 10, 2014 at 1:24 pm #130684Casey
Participantdancepapi,
Sorry for the issues here, but I guess I’m not sure I’m understanding your issue clearly. When you create a new recurring event in 3.5.1 what exactly is happening? It should be creating an event series that will repeat based on the recurrence pattern that you specify. You might see what appears to be duplicates (screenshot), but clicking ‘Edit All’ will allow you to edit the entire series of recurring events.Sorry for not understanding clearly, but If you could walk me through the issue in a bit more detail, then that will allow me to troubleshoot further. Thanks! 🙂

ParticipantCasey,
So if I create a regular recurring event with a pattern such as this – http://grab.by/vWzS
Instead of just creating one new instance for however far in advanced I set in the settings (in my case 3 months), the software will create many duplicates (the same exact instance over and over) instead of just one as you’ll see here:
http://grab.by/vWAa
This happens for every recurring event (all my events are recurring in my case since they are for weekly or bi-monthly classes, etc). So today for example, I should have about 20 different recurring events being added to the calendar based on the recurring patterns I’ve setup. Instead though, each one of these events will be added as they should but so will many duplicates of each event (with the same date/time for its corresponding event). This has been a nightmare to clean up as I’ve attempted multiple times to delete every single event and reenter from scratch with this damn duplicates problem still happening. Please help.April 15, 2014 at 10:44 am #133312Casey
Participantdancepapi,
I’m so sorry that I’m so late in replying here! Somehow your thread got lost in my queue, but thanks for being patient. 🙁Regarding your issue of duplicates, can you try something for me? Go into your main events listing page, and then click ‘Clear’ button in the filters area (screenshot). We’ve had some users report that this solved the problem for them, and I wanted to see if it helps to clear up your issue.
Give that a try and let me know what you discover. Thanks! 🙂

ParticipantHi Casey,
I clicked the ‘Clear’ button in the filters area but that did nothing and the many duplicates for all recurring events are still being created. What else can be done?April 16, 2014 at 5:52 am #133828Casey
ParticipantDancepapi,
Would it be possible to send us an export of your database for one of our developers to investigate further? If so, just send a private reply with a link to the file, and I’ll pass it along. Thanks! 🙂-Casey-

Participantdancepapi,
Our developer has confirmed that this is indeed a bug, and is working to provide a fix for the next release. As a workaround in the meantime, you can disable the scheduling of new events by pasting this snippet into your theme’s functions.php file: https://gist.github.com/jbrinley/10990289Give that a shot and let me know if it solves the issue for now. Thanks! 🙂

Participantdancepapi,
One of our developers has developed a small, separate plugin that should help with this issue you’re having. Just download the ZIP file from here: https://cloudup.com/c23lu6PhA4u, install it, and activate it. Then you should be seeing it activated in your plugins like this: screenshot. After installing, you should see a new area on your ‘Events->Settings’ page that will allow you to fix duplicates (screenshot). Give that a shot and see if it fixes the issue for you.
This should be a temporary fix until we implement a more permanent fix with the next update. Thanks! 🙂

ParticipantHi Casey,
I uploaded the zip to clean up the duplicates and also just saw that there was an ECPRO Update 3.5.2 to further address the issue. Hopefully this solves everything. I’ll posts again if I encounter any other problems. Thank you again for your assistance. I really appreciate it.April 21, 2014 at 5:50 am #138159Casey
ParticipantYes, please update and let us know if this resolves your issue. Thanks @dancepapi! 🙂
