ParticipantI’ve searched support, and done all of the troubleshooting. Every recurring event I create ends in 404 errors.
After upgrading to the latest versions of Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro, I tried creating a new recurring event called Portland Saturday Market.
(I’m going to share links in a followup post so I can keep them private)
The permalink created by wordpress gives a 404 error.
If I click on the event name from the main events page, I get the same URL as above, which is a 404.
If I click on the ‘See All’ link for a recurring event from that page, I get the full list of the recurring events, with the eventDisplay query var at the end: /?eventDisplay=all
If I click on any of THOSE links, I get a 404.
If I try going directly to the slug without the date (/portland-saturday-market-2/), /portland-saturday-market-2/all/, which is a 404.
So I did the obvious, and tried typing this URL to get to an individual event, and it works:
/portland-saturday-market-2/?eventDisplay=2017-07-22So why aren’t the permalinks corresponding correctly?
I’ve updated my permalinks, I’ve tried turning off all (other) plugins, and I’ve even swapped out my theme. Nothing works.

ParticipantAs I said in my original post, I’d already flushed my permalinks (though I called it ‘updated permalinks’), and did so after every troubleshooting step.
What I didn’t mention was that this was happening before we upgraded, so then we did upgrade to the latest Events Calendar (4.5.8), and the problem still exists. I also just now saw that Events Calendar Pro has a new version, so upgraded to 4.4.14, and am still experiencing the problem.

ParticipantNevermind. The Events Calendar Pro update 4.4.14 fixed it! Took a second for the cache dump to take effect.

MemberHi Ryan,
Last week we released the latest versions of TEC and ECP with a permalink update for recurring events (the permalink logic was removed from TEC and implemented on ECP instead). A number of customers were experiencing this 404 error with recurring events after the update and the permalink flush solved it.
It is not clear why you were experiencing this problem before plugin (TEC + ECP) updates, but it’s good to know everything is working as expected now!
Let us know if you need anything else and have a great week!
Regards,
Patricia
