GuestHi
Does the PRO version “Recurring Events” option allow the following:
I have events that take place several times in the year, e.g. January, March, June… it is always the same event.
Can I add this to the website with a payment option for each of the events?
I want people to buy event a or b or c. all should be shown in the events calendar. they are not connected to each other. People should be able to buy each one seperately. The article about Recurring Events is not completely specific about this.
Thanks, KatiNovember 10, 2016 at 8:16 am #1190318Geoff
MemberHi Kati!
I was going to give you a hearty “YES!” for an answer all the way up until I read this:
Can I add this to the website with a payment option for each of the events?
Events Calendar PRO will indeed allow you to create a recurring event that matches a custom pattern like that. The problem is that our ticketing plugins, Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus do not currently support tickets on recurring events. It’s something we’re working on (and it’s been really hard to build!) but I’m sorry to say it is not ready for release yet.
You can, however, create a recurring event, then break each recurring instance out of the series and add tickets to each one. Modifying a single event in a recurring series breaks it out of the series, which then allows you to sell tickets for it. Not sure if that’s ideal for you, but is definitely one workaround. 🙂
Does this help clarify things a bit? I’ll take a look at that Knowledgebase post as well and see where we can spruce things up for more clarity.
Cheers!

GuestHi Geoff
Thank you for helping me.
Would there than be any difference between just copy-paste the single event and creating an additional event? Is there an advantage of creating a recurring event, splitting it up to have single events? (e.g. SEO, less work)?
Is there an easy way to duplicate events?
Thank you very much!

MemberGreat question!
There is no difference at all between creating a recurring event and creating separate events by copying and pasting the content. Well, the only difference is that the events will not be linked together as a recurring series, but that doesn’t seem to be a big deal here.
You can use a post duplicator plugin to create event copies. There are a number of them available — in fact, here’s a search on the WordPress.org plugin directory that provides a few different options.
Did you have any other questions or can I help clarify anything else? Please let me know and I’d be happy to help.
Cheers,
