ParticipantEver since updating to Events Calendar 4 and Events Calendar PRO 4, recurring events do not work at all.
I cannot edit them. I cannot view them publicly on the website.
I have tried the support page to “fix 404 errors”: it doesn’t work. Turning off permalinks does help. Setting it to anything else does not help.
I’ve tested for theme and plugin conflicts. This problem did not arise until updating to Events Calendar 4. If I disable Events Calendar PRO, all the 404 errors go away but I cannot edit the recurring event. I am very, very disappointed in this.
I am a developer and I know WordPress and PHP very well so I am happy to perform any sort of technical activity to get this resolved.

MemberThanks for the detailed reply.
Could you try setting it to the first option, “2016-01-15”, then re-save one of your pretty permalinks (not “Plain”) and see if the issue is resolved?
Then create a new recurring event (don’t look at your past events, just create a new one) and see what URLs get generated for that series.
Thanks.

ParticipantAs I said before, I tried doing that and it made no difference.
Creating a new recurring event works fine. The generated URLs are as expected: https://brebeuf.org/event/test/2017-01-26/
https://brebeuf.org/event/test/all/
Editing works as well.
One thing I did notice: this new recurring event offered the option to “Edit All” or “Edit Single”. My existing events only offer the option to “Edit” or “Edit Single”. “Edit All” is not an option.
The “Edit” option for my old recurring event looks like this: https://brebeuf.org/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=tribe_events .
The “Edit All” option for my test recurring event looks like this: https://brebeuf.org/wp-admin/post.php?post=15042&action=edit
Pulling the post ID from the “Edit Single” URL (https://brebeuf.org/wp-admin/post.php?post=14422&action=tribe_split&_wpnonce=redacted) and putting it into the normal “Edit All” URL gives me the edit page I expect.
The edit page provides a permalink like this: https://brebeuf.org/event/daily-mass-8-2016-05-09/2016-05-09/ which when opened redirects to https://brebeuf.org/event/2016-05-09/
However, when I changed the time and saved it (the whole edit I wanted to make in the first place that brought all of this to my attention), it only affected that day–not every event in the recurring series, despite the fact that in a big message box at the top of the edit page it said “You are currently editing all events in a recurring series.”

MemberMike, thanks for the additional testing.
I was thinking it was one issue but now realize it’s actually a different one.
Unfortunately, we don’t have a fix for this issue at this time. The one other time we had it, the user chose to manually recreate all events, since that solved the issue for them.
Is that a possible solution for you?
If not, please provide information on how many total events and how many recurring events you have.
Thank you.

ParticipantI also have this problem. Recurring event pages will load once for anonymous users, but on reload the user is taken to a Page Not Found screen. I have found no problem with non-recurring events.

Try loading and then reloading the Feb 11 event
http://crsny.org/wp/index.php/event/transforming-the-heart-through-meditation-four-part-workshop-series/2016-02-11/My WordPress and plugins are up to date. My permalinks are set to custom:
/index.php/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postnameWhat should I do?

MemberThanks for the additional details, Christopher.
Note: In this forum we try to keep our threads focused on just one user’s problem. This ensures that we are addressing your specific problem instead of a general group one, and not possibly missing anything unique your situation.
To that end, would you mind opening up a new topic here about your issue? If you could please detail in your own words exactly what your problem is (instead of just linking here), that will go a long way toward helping you get this issue resolved as fast as possible. I hope you understand our reasoning here and do not mind this extra step, we have just found it serves our users best.
Thank you.
