Recurring event list view

I am creating a website that allows online registration to the courses taught at our school. A regular course is two days a week, for 10 weeks. What is the best way to set this up? When I create recurring events, the event list shows each day of the course – I would like it to only show each course separate as they all are on multiple days. Is it possible to just show the first instance of a recurring event to allow for registration? I read somewhere that Events Calendar 3.0 might support this but there is not yet a release date. Is it possible to edit the list view to accomplish what I need? thanks!

There have been a number of approaches to this posted in the forums. Here are two I found:

customize output of recurring events: list title/desc once, all dates under that

You can try those two out. Otherwise you’ll need to work on a solution yourself or wait until 3.0

Thanks. I think I’ll resort to creating a single event and add a custom field that informs people of when the course meets. I’ll have to remove the add to Google calendar button to avoid confusion.
