Recurring event, just 2 dates but 2 different times

Hello,

I have an event that occurs on 2 different days, at 2 different times.

I need to be able to achieve this by a recurring event – as I am looping through the events on an overview page, and only want each event displaying once on this page – and adding 2 separate events makes it display twice on my overview page – which I don’t want.

I have tried recurring the event as a ‘Date’ – but don’t have the option to add a different time for the 2nd day. Then I tried a ‘Custom’ recur, but can’t set it for just 1 more date.

There must be a way to do this?

To clarify on this one, for the two different days are the two times within those days the same for each day? Also, are the two different days consecutive days or are you looking for the ability for them to be random?

The lack of ability to add a different time on the “Date” recurrence is definitely a limitation in this particular situation. We do have a request for this that you can add your voice to here.

Hello, yes they are 2 different random days, with different times:-

29th July 10.30am – 1.30pm
3rd September 12.00am – 2.00pm

– I can’t seem to be able to achieve this as a recurring event either by the ‘Date’ or ‘Custom’ recurring options.

And as you say – if we had a different time options on the ‘Date’ recurring event option that would solve my problem! is this something that isn’t possible right now with the plugin?

Hey Lucy,

Thanks for following up with us here.

Unfortunately this isn’t possible with the current recurrence settings. However, since there are only two dates to cover here, you could try a duplicator plugin such as https://wordpress.org/plugins/post-duplicator/ to duplicate the first one so you’re not updating all of the information for the second event.
