When I added the events to the calendar, and added them as recurring events, everything is fine until December.

For some reason, starting in December the events start multiplying. So, Monday events that I entered only 1 time, ending in March, are accurate until December.

I am not sure why they look that way. How do I get them to be just one time for the entire duration of September to March without them duplicating like this in just a few months?

I will also, need to delete the duplicates. Is there an easy way?

    Hey Jerry and happy Friday!

Oh man, I see exactly what you mean — that’s super weird so let’s look into it together to see what’s happening.

First off, would you be willing to share your system information with me? You can find that at Events > Settings > Help at the bottom of the screen. Please copy that info and paste it here as a private reply. We had a similar issue pop up that we resolved in Events Calendar PRO 4.2.2.1, so I want to see if this is related and the system information will help me check.

    Thanks so much!

Thanks a ton, Jerry! That’s super helpful because it confirms you are running the latest versions of the plugin. It also gives me some additional settings you’re using that I can try on my own test site.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to recreate the issue just yet. Here is a screenshot of a weekly event I created that goes into 2017 and here’s another screenshot of it in the WordPress admin.

As a next step, would you be willing to share a screenshot of recurrence settings for that specific event? That will allow me to try creating the exact same event on my test site using the same settings you used to create yours. Something like this is what I’m looking for.

Hopefully we can pinpoint the issue from there, but if not, I’ll be asking you to try a couple of other things: one being to delete the existing event and creating a new one in its place. The other to test for conflicts with the theme and other installed plugins. No worries about doing any of that yet, I just wanted to give you a heads up of how we’re planning to tackle this.

    Thanks!
    Geoff

Thanks a ton, Jerry! That screenshot is super helpful. 🙂

I was able to create an event using the exact same settings. Here is a screenshot of that.

The event did not multiply on the front end after December. Here is a screenshot of March 2017 as an example.

The event also did not seem to multiply in the WordPress admin area. Here is a screenshot of that.

So, what I’m suspecting is that there might a conflict with either the theme you’re using or perhaps another installed plugin but we’ll need to test that make sure. Will you please do a few things for me:

    • Delete the recurring event
    • Follow the steps outlined here to deactivate installed plugins and and switch to a default WordPress theme
    • Create a new recurring event in place of the last one using the same settings you shared with me
    • Stop there and let me know if the event is still multiplying in those conditions — screenshot where possible!
    • Reactivate the plugins and your theme one by one to see if any of those trigger the multiplication

I’m hoping this will pinpoint the exact cause of the issue! Let’s see what we find.

    Thanks,
    Geoff
