ParticipantI have an event created as follows on a staging website:
Sundays at 12:30pm and 3:30pm on October 2 & 9, 2016
Saturdays at 11am and 2pm on October 15, 22 & 29, 2016The first Sunday, Oct. 2nd, only has the first time slot without the second time slot getting created. The second Sunday, Oct. 9th, has both time slots listed which leads me to believe that it’s only a problem for the start date. All other recurring dates after the start date has the two time slots listed as intended.
Attached are screenshots of the recurrence settings, the calendar view with the two time slots, and the posts created.
Thanks for any help.

MemberGood evening Cynthia and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the recurring events not appearing exactly how you want them to on your site.
I would love to help you with this topic. To make a long story short, the reason why the second time slot is not appearing on the first Sunday is because of the way that the last recurrence rule is defined.
The rule’s frequency is “weekly’. As such, it will only start the following week after the initial event. If you want to add time slots on the same day as the initial event, you will require a specific “one shot” recurrence rule to achieve that.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

ParticipantThanks for the clarification for the weekly recurrence, makes perfect sense.
I tried adding a “one shot” recurrence using custom with daily, monthly with 2nd date set, and yearly with the day set but the second time slot is still not being created, see screenshots. The italic description for the recurrence below the options is correct but after updating the event no new event for the second time slot is created for Oct 2.
Could you help steer me in the right direction for the correct recurrence setting to get the second time slot added for the first start date? I can’t think of any more combinations to try.
Thanks for the help.

MemberGood evening Cynthia,
Thank you for writing back and for testing the standalone rule.
You are absolutely right, no matter what rule is tried, it seems like currently it is not possible to get a 2nd event to show up on the initial event date with a different time.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention! It helps us improve our product.I have opened a ticket for this so that it can be looked at.
Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date for a fix at this point. But you will be contacted as soon as there is one.It seems that for now, the only “workaround” is to create a truly standalone event for that first day, which has the huge disadvantage of not being linked in anyway to the recurring event series.
Hang in there as we work on this!
Best regards,
Geoff B.

ParticipantThanks for the update Geoff.
Good to know it wasn’t just my particular setup having this issue. We look forward to the fix as we’ll most likely have future events with multiple time slots.
No problem with the fix release date and thanks for the workaround suggestion. We’re okay with the second time slot missing for the calendar since the linked ticket booth website will have it listed.
Thanks again for your help.

MemberHello There!
Just wanted to share with you that a new release of our plugins is out, including a fix for this issue 🙂
Find out more about this release → https://theeventscalendar.com/release-event-tickets-4-8-event-tickets-plus-4-8/
We apologize for the delay and appreciate your patience while we worked on this.
As always, we suggest to setup a dev/staging site so you can make all plugin updates without disrupting the live site.
Please update the plugins and see if the fix works for your site. Don’t hesitate to open a new topic if anything comes up.
Best,
