ParticipantAfter installing your new release my eShop product search widget stopped working. This is the first time I’ve had one of these conflicts between two plugins. Is it possible for me to install back to the old version of Events Calendar Pro?

ParticipantHi Ken,
If you want to roll back to an earlier version of the plugin, you should be able to click on the Account Central link in the top right corner of this screen and choose Downloads from the menu and have your pick of which version worked for you. You should delete/rename the current version before installing the older one.
I hope that resolves your conflict for the time being.

ParticipantThanks for the advice for a temporary fix, but are you still going to look into the main issue that your plugin caused another to stop working? Since it’s the interaction between two plugins I’m feeling kinda caught between a rock and a hard place!

ParticipantHey Ken,
So help me here. Your eShop plugin was working alongside the Events Calendar PRO prior to the 3.2 release? And nothing else changed other than you updated our plugin(s)? Can you provide me a link to the eShop plugins on wordpress.org/plugins/ so we can take a closer look?

ParticipantYes the eshop plugin was working besides Events Calendars Pro 2.7. I installed the new version of WordPress and then updated my plugins. I deactivated all plugins except for eshop and then successively activated each plugin checking to see if the eShop search still worked. When I activated Event Calendar 3.0, the product search stopped working.
Here is a link to the eShop plugins. http://wordpress.org/plugins/eshop/
I have restored the 2.7 versions of Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO and the eShop search is working, so I have a workaround for the time being.
Thanks for your help! I know its a tough issue when it’s a conflict between two plugins.

ParticipantHello Ken,
OK. I’ve taken a look and I’m going to pull in one of our more dev-minded folks to assist. Hang on and we’ll see what we can figure out.

MemberHi Ken: we’re going to take a look but will need to fire up a copy of eShop to do so. Realistically that may not be today but we should certainly be able to update you with our findings later this week.
Thanks for your patience while we look into this!

MemberHi Ken: I’ll certainly log an issue for us to consider alternative approaches – but right now both plugins are in a sense guilty of following the same tactic when it comes to modifying WordPress queries.
Both are attempting to perform a SQL join operation – and both do so using the same table, which is disallowed. Neither checks to see if a join has already been performed on that table already.
It’s not so trivial a problem to solve, I’m afraid. You could try adding this snippet to your theme’s functions.php file as one possible workaround – beyond that however (and I can’t really guarantee it will work in all circumstances) both plugins may require some changes to “play nicely”, assuming that is practical here.
All in all, we’ll certainly look into the possibility of changing things on our side, but I’m not sure at this time what form any changes might take.

MemberHi there,
I just wanted to pop in here with a quick update. Although we were not able to get a fix for this into our imminent 3.3 release, it is still on the radar for inclusion in a future build. Thanks for your patience!
