quick question about Facebook events refresh

So i know that you guys are coming out with a update where we can update Facebook events that have been edited by user on Facebook and event will be updated with current info on our sites. And it will be coming out any day! 🙂

Question:
-I enter Facebook information from a Facebook page (User name or number) to Events, Settings, Facebook Events
-Events from Facebook page are loaded on Events, Import Facebook. and a list of their events are showed.
-I do not click “Auto import” under Events, Settings, Facebook Events.
Follow me?

So the events that are loaded onto Events, Import Facebook.
Are those events updated, when left unchecked? I wait until event in near in time before i download those events from Facebook.
-See what I’m saying? If i wait until event is close in time, user may update their event int he mean time. ‘
-When i click download will that event be updated to as current as the user has on Facebook?

Hi there, Shawn! Thanks for reaching out and I’m glad you’re excited about upcoming updates to the Facebook Events importer. 🙂

Good question and unfortunately the answer is no. Events that have already been imported will be automatically be skipped in the next import, so they will not update in WordPress even if the event information has changed.

I know that’s not the answer you were hoping for, but does it at least help shed light on your question? Please let me know.

Yes, that’s correct. If the event has not previously been imported, it will be imported with the most current information. Any events that have previously been imported will be skipped.
