David
ParticipantHi there – I’m posting some feedback from a client who uses Events Calendar Pro and is experiencing some frustration with the Recurring Events functionality.
If you have any comments to help her, or workarounds, would be great to hear them so I can pass them on.
This is her 3 x questions to me on Recurring Events (she loves the rest of the plugin BTW!)
###
1. To edit a recurring event you have to locate either the original or the most recent event, as each event shows as a separate occurrence, rather than one editable event with multiple recurrences. When you’ve set a recurring event for months or years, it becomes extremely difficult (near on impossible) to edit future events. I’ve had to delete 5,000 events and start from scratch because the process of finding the original recurring event or one which is near to the current date is so tedious.
2. You also can’t search through events which are forthcoming, a search turns up every event, past or future. Useless when trying to edit future events.
3. Also, one can’t set a recurring event which happens Mondays through Fridays or Mondays through Saturdays, for example. You have to create a separate event for each day of the week. Would be great to create an event that occurs every day *except* and be able to tick which days it did not occur.

ParticipantHi David,
Sorry to hear about the troubles. Let me try and answer your questions:
1. Unfortunately this is the current functionality and there is no way around it. For sites with lots of events this is going to be a problem.
2. You could suggest to use the filters in the events list: http://cl.ly/image/361A0t0A1m01 – that would let you narrow down your search to particular start dates. This could apply to #1 as well.
3. You should be able to do this by setting the recurrence pattern to Custom and then Weekly like you see here: http://cl.ly/image/420I162t460b
I hope that answers your questions but let me know if you have any others.
