    Hi
I’ve been looking at Event Calendar and getting some strange happenings (to which I have posted questions & hoping for answers on the WP forum).
Anyway, I’m trying to work out exactly what PRO does different form free: 1) can PDF’s / extra documents be uploaded with an EVENT?
    2) can someone book direct from the event? i.e. click “buy ticket” and they actually purchase a ticket & the money gets paid somewhere
    3) Can an event be featured within the List view? as in “latest event” or “event discounted” or “early bird book now”.
    4) can the events be shared with Facebook / other?
    5) Do we actually have control over how the text is displayed for “stand alone event page” and “List Display” > specifically in relation to where the picture & text go in relation to each other.

    thanks in advance

    Hi Kathy,

Thanks for getting in touch. We will certainly do our best to help out with the issues you mentioned. Meanwhile, I’ll try to illustrate the distinction between PRO and core here for you and get each question addressed.

1.) Events are custom post types, so as with regular posts you can upload PDFs and other files directly into the post description.

2.) There is no booking or ticketing in PRO, but we have two other ticketing add-ons, Eventbrite Tickets (which works with Eventbrite.com) and WooCommerce: Tickets, which works within WordPress using WooCommerce.

3.) There is no built in way to feature an event like you describe. The next upcoming is always at the top by default. However, you might be able to customize something like this. You can use PRO widgets to make a countdown to a selected event, list events at a certain venue, or events within a certain category.

4.) Our Facebook Events plugin allows you to import events from Facebook into The Events Calendar. However, you cannot push events from the calendar to Facebook yet.

5.) There is not a built in, WYSYWYG way to do this. However, if you’re comfortable with a little code and CSS, you can make custom page templates or do template overrides to change the events page.

Let me know if I can elaborate further or answer any other questions.

    Best,
    Leah
