Questions on Pro and Community

Good afternoon.

I am a previous user of Event Calendar PRO, and am currently looking to add Events Calendar to another website. I have downloaded the free version, but am looking at possibly adding both the Community and PRO products to allow bands and venues to input into the calendar directly, and fans to view events on a local map.

The last time I used PRO, I had an issue with the map display of multiple future events at a single venue. The next show did not appear, it was a seemingly random show, so the map was useless for people to determine who was playing in their area on that day. Has this been addressed? Also, can I default the map display to today’s date? This would allow people to simply open the map view and see what performers are in their immediate area at any time.

Also, is there code available to change the display of the title “Organizer” to a different title? I won’t have “Organizers”, I’ll have “Performers” and would like to label them as such.

Hi Robert!

I looked at a few events set to the same venue in map view, and sure enough there is only one of them displaying on the map. Is this what you were referring to?

The way the map works with the date in the searchbar, it will show events starting at the date entered, but it also displays the next events coming after. By default it starts with today’s date already. There is no way to show only the day’s events in the map view however.

To change Organizers to Performers, you can use this free extension.

Hello, Sky.

Yes, it looks like you’re seeing the same thing. I think if you have a dozen venues on the map, it’s not even the next event at each venue that displays on the map. It seemed like it was some random item on the event list. Unfortunate. The lack of ability to restrict the date range, along with that symptom, means PRO and the mapping function won’t work for my site.

Not sure of the new Loxi product will behave differently, I’m on the list for updates so I’ll check it out when I can. In the meantime I’ll explore other options.
