GuestHello. I am currently investigating various platforms via which to recreate and reorganize our WordPress site. I am not a “guru,” but am the only computer savvy person in our group, so it has fallen to me. (I am a print designer who has dabbled in web design, so am not completely out of it, though not an expert by any means; but am able to learn.)
I have come across a product called Divi Builder, and I asked them a question re being able to design a page for an event my organization hosts from time to time, for which we need to take reservations and sell a variety of tickets. They gave me a link to your site, but I’m trying to understand a couple of things.
First, does one need to buy BOTH the Events Calendar and Events Tickets plugins to be able to stage an event? Or does one plugin encompass the other? Or what exactly is needed to do the following and how (if it can) does it integrate with Divi Builder:
- We usually have a three-day symposium for which we offer daily or all-event tickets, plus separate tickets for the main banquet, or a combo of tickets for all days and banquet or just one day and banquet. So, a variety of tickets are needed. In addition, we sometimes offer student or couple rates. We also need to offer accommodation information, which, while not strictly a ticket, could possibly be set up in the same format??
Divi Builder doesn’t seem to have a lot of good form capability as yet — they only have a contact form as far as I can see — and as it is up to me to make recommendations to our organization before we spend money on templates, frameworks, themes, etc., I need to get all my ducks in a row.
The Divi (Elegant Themes) people tell me your products incorporate well with theirs. I don’t understand how, just yet, not being a WPress designer (hence, the need for something like Divi Builder). I’ve been managing the content of our site for the last couple years, so am familiar with the Dashboard in WP, but don’t really know much about plugins or even the kinds of plugins a person might expect to find in the world, if they did go looking. For instance, I had no idea WooCommerce existed and especially did not know you provided ticket purchase services.
We used EventBrite for our last event, because of someone’s recommendation. We were not entirely happy with it. But I didn’t know there were perhaps other choices. But it did allow us to describe the event, give details about speakers, provide an agenda, all that stuff, which we would definitely need to do. I don’t know enough about how your plugins work, nor enough about Divi Builder, to know if I can do that kind of thing using a combo of them and your products, and would really like some guidance before I commit our company dollars. (We are a nonprofit, so $$ are guarded carefully.)
In addition, we are thinking of setting up a store at “Cafe Press,” so our members can go in and order coffee mugs and T-shirts with our logo. Cafe Press was what I was looking at because no one in the organization wants to keep dozens of preprinted mugs in their house, nor be responsible for sending one out every time there is an order, and Cafe Press will do one-by-one items and drop-ship them for us. Because I’m new to WooCommerce (basically have only just HEARD of you, don’t know all that you do), I don’t know if I can somehow set some kind of WooCommerce plugin up in my WordPress site that would reach out to our Cafe Press store (once we get it up and running) — or if that is even the kind of thing WooCommerce does.
I’m sorry if my questions are rambling or vague. This is simply because I am still learning and there are so many pieces I have yet to put together. It isn’t quite the puzzle it was a couple days ago, and hopefully it will be less of a puzzle a few days from now. But I keep coming across more options and plug-in developers and talk about framework — when all I actually intended to do, to start with, was go out and buy a theme. So it is getting to be a little big for me to wrap my head around, and I’d appreciate any help you can suggest.
Thank you very much for your patience and time. I look forward to your response.

MemberHi. Thanks for considering our suite of plugins.
The Events Calendar core/free is required for our add-on plugins (for example: PRO add-on).
===
Per our Scope of Support / Terms, we don’t provide support for non-default WordPress themes (like Twenty Fifteen). In other words, Divi theme or its Builder plugin probably work with our plugins but we don’t guarantee them.
===
We do have an Eventbrite Tickets add-on, but you could alternatively (or also) use our free/core Event Tickets plugin that allows RSVP (free) tickets. We sell the Event Tickets Plus add-on if you want to sell tickets (non-free).
We don’t provide support for WooCommerce or other e-commerce plugins, but our Event Tickets Plus plugin integrates with several different ones (WooCommerce is the most popular) so we are pretty familiar with it.
===
FYI: We have a non-profit program.

I hope this helps answers several of your questions. Please let me know if you need any more answers!
